Our Background and Industry Experience

The Door Industry Journal is produced on behalf of the Door and Hardware Federation (DHF) and publishes every four months in Spring, Summer and Winter (April, August and December).

Management and Partners

The publication is managed and edited by Sussex based, Avalon Marketing with public relations and technical article writing services provided by Guy Ainsworth from the DHF's PR agency Ainsworth PR complemented by our partner agency Shippey PR and other independent writers.

Artwork and design services are provided by Freelance Design & Graphics and printing is done by the professional high quality printers, Evonprint.

Mailing and distribution services are facilitated by our fulfilment house, Promotional Mailng Services Group Ltd based in Wrotham, Kent.

The Editor

Derek Hibbart has been the editor of the publication since 1998 when he held the position, in a voluntary capacity, while serving as a committee member with the Association of Garage Door Specialists (AGDS). He has over 30 years combined frontline experience in the builders' merchant, hardware, ironmongery and garage door industries covering the wholesale, retail and franchise sectors.

Now, with almost 15 years of issues under his belt, he is the principal at Avalon Marketing and shares his time between the UK and France, both editing the magazine and advising small businesses, utilising the extensive commercial experience he gained over the years working with franchisees in the garage door industry.
